Modern 3 Star contemporary accommodation is perfectly blended with the 350 year old bar &
restaurant. Casual dining is available in the bar and on the terraces and there is a fabulous
restaurant at the hotel. Situated in a picturesque edge of village location, the hotel is peaceful
and away from traffic noise.
More than just a place to stay; it’s a tranquil space where you can escape the hustle and bustle

The Devonshire Arms, a Grade II former hunting lodge, is set on the picturesque village green of
Long Sutton in the heart of the Somerset Levels just off the A303, close to Somerton, and under
two hours from London by car or train.
Step inside the impressive inn and you’ll find an unexpectedly contemporary style, with an
emphasis on quality. Friendly staff are always on hand to ensure your visit is enjoyable, whether
it’s just for a pint in the bar or a relaxed meal in the restaurant prepared from locally sourced
ingredients. You can also drink and dine ‘al fresco’ in the sheltered courtyard, large terraced
walled garden or overlooking the green at the front.
Accommodation consists of nine bedrooms, all individually designed in a fresh modern way and
each with its own en-suite facilities.
Established in 1680, The Lord Poulett Arms is a traditional yet stylish thatched pub, located in the
heart of the historic Somerset village of Hinton Saint George, two hours from London and thirty-
five minutes from Lyme Regis.
The pub has a main bar stocked with fine local ales, further dining rooms serve unpretentious
food and beautiful gardens with seating and a pétanque piste for the warmer months.
Upstairs there are four bedrooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom, and two smaller
bedrooms with bathrooms across the corridor as well a large loft room. The bedrooms at the Lord
Poulett are set within the pub and have pared back, comforting interiors inspired by the British
countryside, Siberian goose down duvets with crisp cotton sheets, baths with their own natural
products and views of our chocolate box village, pub gardens and landscape beyond.
During your trip you will be accompanied by one of our team of experienced stalkers with 4×4 trucks to transport you between your accommodation and the stalking ground.
At Jason Bartlett Stalking we provide the very best rifles and optics for our guests to use. These firearms may be used only when accompanied by the owner who will carry it for you, handing it over prior to taking the shot.
If you wish to bring your own weapon then we can provide you with a Visitors Firearms Pass. We require a scanned copy of your European Firearms Pass and please allow 6 weeks for processing.
We are able to offer safe and practical rifle handling and shooting practice, inclusive of rifle zeroing prior to hunt at the local shooting range
